We offer summer and winter IELP programs for elementary, junior high, senior high, and university/professional students.

Northwestern Consulting (NWC) Summer Program offers world-renowned summer programs for Korean students. It is modeled after University of Illinois TESL, and program is designed by U of I staff. The Summer International English Language Program (IELP) Is extensive educational/cultural curriculum offered during the summer. Please contact NWC for further detail.

NWC 여름 영어 프로그램은 이민자들이 없는 조용하고 아름다운 소도시에서 미국의 문화와 언어를 배울 수 있는 여건을 제공합니다. 모든 교육과정은 경험 많은 미국인 교사들과, 학생들과 개인적인 교제를 나눌 미국인 보조교사들이 사명을 가지고 담당합니다. 학생들의 숙박을 제공할 가정들은 수차례의 심사를 통하여 선택된 미국인 가정들로서 Galesburg 시에서 전문직종에 종사하여 존경과 인정을 받고 있는 가정들입니다. 학생들은 미국인 가정에서의 숙박을 통해 전형적인 미국인 중산층 문화를 직접 체험하게 될 것입니다.

　
Our unique program offers rigorous academic instruction in English along with travel, recreation, and cultural enrichment. For three to four weeks, our students live with carefully secleted American host families in a close-knit community that offers rich American cultural heritage. The Knox College campus (site of IELP), which includes tennis courts, playing fields, swimming pools, gymnasiums, and air conditioned classrooms, is located in heart of Midwest, site of Lincoln versus Douglas debate. Galesburg is located 3 hours from Chicago and 3 hours from St. Louis. Students learn English while learning to work as a team. We place strong emphasis upon respect for the unique individual and educational differences that each student brings to the community.

　
NWC의 독특한 프로그램은 여행과 레크리에이션, 문화적인 체험들과 더불어 충실한 영어 학습의 기회를 제공합니다. 3주 또는 4주간의 기간 동안, 학생들은 세심하게 선정된 미국인 가정에서 생활하며 친밀하게 엮인 지역사회에서 풍부한 미국의 문화적 유산을 경험하게 됩니다. IELP 프로그램이 진행될 Knox College 캠퍼스 (site of IELP)는 미 중서부의 한가운데 위치해 있으며, 테니스장과 운동장, 수영장, 체육관, 냉방시설된 교실 등의 설비를 갖추고 있습니다. Galesburg는 시카고와 세인트루이스에서 각각 3시간 거리에 위치해 있는 조용하고 전형적인 미국의 소도시입니다. 학생들은 하나의 팀으로서 활동하며 영어를 학습하게 될 것이고, 개인의 특징과 학습능력의 차이는 최대한 존중될 것입니다.

NWC International English Language Program (IELP) 은 한국의 학생들에게 밀도있는 ESL 수업과 미국인 교사들과의 개인적인 교제를 통하여 효과적인 영어학습의 기회를 제공하는 것입니다. 또한 미 중서부지역의 문화 관광지역을 여행하며 미국의 문화를 직접 체험할 수 있습니다. 이 프로그램은 TOEFL시험을 준비하고 있거나 미국에서의 유학을 계획하고 있는 학생들에게도 유익한 기회가 될 것입니다.

NWC 여름 영어학습 프로그램은 엄격한 기준에 의해 선택된 미국 중산층 가정에서의 민박 기회를 제공합니다. 교실 학습과 영어회화 훈련은 미국 현지인 가정에서의 민박을 통하여 그 학습효과를 배가하게 됩니다. 교과과정은 초보자에서 부터 능숙한 수준에 이르기까지 다양하게 준비되어 있습니다. 학생들은 간단한 테스트를 통하여 그들의 영어능력에 맞는 수준의 그룹에 배정됩니다.

Afternoon Activities

NWC에서는 개인의 필요에 맞추어 다양한 시청각 교재와 방법론을 활용하여 영어회화의 기초를 다지고자 합니다. IELP 프로그램은 지적, 신체적 활동을 자극하는 강도 높은 교과외 과정을 제공합니다. 본 프로그램은 전문강사들이 지도하는 다음과 같은 스포츠 활동을 포함하고 있습니다.

NWC International English Language Program (IELP) offers an effective way for Korean University students to learn English by attending intensive ESL classes, interacting with American instructors and TAs, learning American customs, and traveling to cultural attractions throughout Midwest. 

This program is beneficial to students who are preparing for the TOEFL exam or planning to continue their education in American schools.
Classroom learning and English conversation exercises help students become accustomed to a private home stay environment. Courses are designed to accommodate beginning through advanced level students. Students are grouped according to their English language proficiency level.

NWC offers a home stay with American host families (prescreened extensively) for summer students.
